After Knave of Crows was chosen for the flash fic contest Oct. 13, I decided to try writing a few more flash pieces. My biggest pitfall with writing is not finishing things, a problem which Flash contests seem to fix. I can show a glimpse of a world without feeling like I've betrayed it by not giving it its novel-length dues. Plus deadlines help.
Anyway, one of them fell by the wayside (turns out the person who posted the submission call deleted his profile and disappeared with some stories, luckily I had yet to send mine off), so I've filed that one away to submit elsewhere sometime in the foggy future… The second flash piece I wrote for MicroHorror as the submission theme was "Eye", and I enjoy working from themes. I finally heard back today and my story, Musings of a Celestial Cyclops is here…!
This is all I plan to do for epubs for awhile. I am working on a few themed submissions for physical anthologies (also with Kindle versions, of course) but I want something with a spine that I can hold in my hand… But for now, victory!
